As a part of, and in conjunction with its immigration practice, McKinney & Namei has developed a special expertise in representing foreign investors who would like to immigrate to the United States to invest and/or work here. McKinney & Namei assists and counsels clients through the maze of establishing small businesses where the only employee is the immigrant himself/herself to a multi-million dollar enterprise with many employees. McKinney & Namei helps clients form business plans and drafts the necessary leases and contracts; incorporates and obtains the necessary licenses; and finally advises on taxes and pension benefits.

McKinney & Namei has also gained a special expertise in counseling professionals, such as engineers, professors and physicians, in negotiating agreements, challenging non-compete clauses in their contracts and establishing a pension plan for their retirements. In representing our foreign national physicians, we have gained a special know-how in representing them in disputes concerning privileges at hospitals, antitrust and securities issues and have litigated the termination of their privileges in the federal courts.
